With March Madness in full swing, there is still plenty of hoops left before the field of 64 is pared down to 4. However, since some of the anticipation can be gone by then, you can be sure your Final Four party will still be something to look forward to with these festive ideas.
Have a cooking competition – Invite your guests to participate in a chili cook off, a rib fest or even a spaghetti sauce taste test. Judge the best in field, and if you have lots of guests you can even pare it down to the final 4 contenders and then choose the winner. Award a trophy such as a cookbook to finish off the festivities.
Follow a team theme – Choose regional food selections for the teams in the Final Four. Or name your favorite foods for the team’s mascots – Blue Devil Chili, Wildcat Wontons, Spartans Satay – anything goes! You can also use colors of the teams to display your foods in (like all red serving ware), or use paper products with the four team’s colors.
Play your own games – At halftime, have a free throw shooting contest outdoors, or if it’s too cold, put up a hoop indoors and have families participate together. You can even have other non-hoops related fun with games like a relay race, obstacle course or timed puzzle-making contest. (use the same small kids’ puzzle for every group)
