I was watching Napoleon Dynamite last week; rather, I was laughing my way through Napoleon Dynamite last week, and was actually struck by one moment in the movie that hadn’t really hit me before. I haven’t aged that much since my last viewing so I don’t think I matured, maybe I just never really paid attention before. Napoleon’s Uncle Rico, is reminiscing about what things might have been like if coach had put him in the big game. You know, living life in the past. It wasn’t a striking moment because of the comedic or dramatic aspect, but because it actually sounded familiar.
This past summer SimonDelivers shut its doors. It was not an easy process. Difficult decisions were made, jobs lost, relationships broken (that’s enough of that). Fortunately, just a few short months later the doors opened again but under a new name: CobornsDelivers. Sometimes I think about the great things that SimonDelivers did as a business and in the community. Great service. Convenient. Quality products. Reliable. Fun. Even social (like this blog). Then I think about sad Uncle Rico, living in his unfulfilled past. [sigh]
Well, we’re CobornsDelivers now, and we have a lot to look forward to! We trumpet the same great qualities that made SimonDelivers the brand it was, only we add to it a family legacy, lower prices, seven day a week delivery, new products and more. Now, I’m happy to say, “The Side Dish” is back as well.
To those of you who read me regularly, I hope you’ll make me a part of your routine again. To those of you who haven’t, well, I guess now is the time to start! We cover just about everything on this blog, and somehow tie it back into food. Sometimes it’s a stretch and I’ll take off on a personal tangent, but that’s what blogs are for, right?
As always, please share your recipes, stories, ideas, and general fun with me! Email me
It feels good to be back!
